Pakistan has introduced ‘Sufra,’ a domestically developed anti-drone jamming gun designed to neutralize hostile or “kamikaze” drones infiltrating its borders.
Developed by the National Electronics Complex, the system was unveiled at the Karachi Maritime Expo, where it successfully demonstrated its ability to jam and disable drones from a distance of up to 1.5 kilometers.
Precision and Control
The Sufra jammer features a 30-degree adjustable targeting angle, allowing operators to precisely intercept and disrupt the communication links of incoming drones. The system can either force a drone to land or disable it mid-flight, giving Pakistan’s security forces a tactical edge against modern aerial threats.
Officials say the technology is tailored to strengthen border surveillance, military installations, and critical infrastructure protection against evolving drone warfare tactics.
Step Forward in Defense Self-Reliance
The launch of Sufra highlights Pakistan’s growing emphasis on indigenous defense innovation and electronic warfare capabilities. Defense experts view the system as a key addition to Pakistan’s broader strategy for counter-drone operations, particularly amid increasing cross-border drone incursions.
